More on Unplanned interruption of Chemstation Run

A customer read our first post on Unplanned Stopping of a Chemstation Run.  He contacted us with another problem he recently experienced.

His IT department.

Many large companies and universities have IT departments that are large and in charge. When the instruments are connected via an internal lan it is possible for them to come in during the dark of night and do hideous things to the PC that is supposed to be running samples.   Like .... run backups (very hard disk intensive) ..... Microsoft updates (many of which require a re-boot) ... virus scans ( yikes!) ... and other such tasks.

Any of which have the potential to stop your run.

Contact your IT department and at least put them on a schedule!  Maybe your mysterious incomplete runs will be minimized.
